Concluding remarks
We've reached the end of my blogging career for the time being. I started this blog aiming to explore the deterioration of air quality and subsequent air pollution in South East Asia, primarily caused by anthropogenic deforestation. From my research, I have found that while deforestation and peatland destruction is a very regional manifestation, there can be global effects economically, socially as well as environmentally. The future of palm oil and its sustainability is being pioneered by NGOs including RSPO and WWF working in partnership to bridge the gaps between different stakeholders at various levels of the supply chain.
I hope you've enjoyed following my journey about the haze of the past few months. Here is a concluding video and some quotes from stakeholders and players with interest in the palm oil industry.
